South Pittsburg is booming with upcoming developments!
Keep an eye out for all the new projects coming soon.

Rails-to-Trails Grant

The city of South Pittsburg was recently awarded a check for $268,893 for the Rails to Trails Program.
This will allow us to create a fantastic walking path along the gorgeous Tennessee River.  We are very pleased to have received this grant and cannot wait to get started on a project that is sure to be a wonderful asset to our community!  Read the article here- http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/news/2006/marion.htm

Carpet manufacturer Shaw Industries has chosen to reopen its manufacturing plant, located at 211 12th Street, investing $20 million in the project and bringing 90 new jobs to the area, with a potential to grow up to 200 jobs.  Shaw Industries also purchased land adjacent to the building for possible future expansion. The jobs the company will bring to the area will be technical, and the strength of a large-company benefit package will accompany the hourly pay rates.
